From slates to blogging!

From slates to blogging - what is a "slate" you ask? The slate I am referring to is a flat piece of fine-grained, homogeneous metamorphic rock approximately A4size. As a very young child in school, I used a writing "slate" with a slate pencil and then progressed to paper and pencils! (No, I am not ancient and I hope it will be some years yet before my retirement.) To clean or erase my "slate", which obviously held a limited amount of writing, I used a wet rag and the information was gone forever. Now I am creating my first "blog" and we can only guess at how far a blog will spread and how long it will last. The intimacy and control associated with using a slate/ notebook/computer file is being replaced by a necessity for trust and confidence and openness, when not only displaying your thoughts in a blog but inviting feedback on them. I am passionate about learning and adopting new technologies, with my library work and with my hobbies of photography and Photoshop. I am looking forward to working through all 6 Test Drives and gaining my Licence 2 Test Drive with all the other Library Learners!

  1. Hi Mary, I wanted to tell you that it is actually a rose, although it does resemble a camellia. It is was bred in the Sunshine Coast hinterland,to be especially resistant to the humid conditions of the coastal areas.

  3. Yeah, but hard to format the way I wanted to. Seems only formatting options are to place on side or at bottom of page and to change the height of the gadget.
